Back to School

It's off to school again for these cute 2nd and 4th graders.  We met their teachers last week and I think they will work out just fine.  Good luck girls!  I hope you have a great year.
And, it's seventh grade for Mr. Aaron.  This is the first day of the first school year in Aaron's life during which he has a school all to himself and doesn't have to share with any Smith siblings.  Let's just hope he'll behave without Chad's watchful care or the threat of Bethany's tattle telling.
And this is what Amber and I think of being left alone all day.  You'll notice Amber isn't nearly as upset about it as I am.  Probably that's because she knows she gets the toys all to herself for a whole day and then tomorrow she'll be back to school herself.  I was feeling kind of down about this whole turn of events earlier this morning.  But now as I sit here blogging in peace without hearing, "Mom, Bethany took my book.  Mom, Aaron called me stupid.  Mom Amber took my ipod somewhere.  I think we should put her up for adoption.", I think I might be able to adjust after all.  Besides that, I drove by the seminary building this morning when Chad was returning to the school for his next class and I am thrilled to tell you that he and his friends actually waved to me.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Not only did they not cringe with embarrassment, but they actually acknowledged my existence.  My baby is growing up!  Maybe the passage of time is not such a bad thing after all.
