The Look of Sheer Concentration!

Chad has always gotten so lucky when the time for taking action photos rolls around.  For some reason, he's always pitching on picture day or just getting more playing time than usual for whatever reason.  This year, he got  more action photos than anyone else in the basketball program - even more than Bryce and Kory Alford.  And if you know New Mexico basketball, you know that no one gets more playing time than UNM Lobo Coach Steve Alford's sons.  They are absolute beasts on the court.  But when it comes to photo ops, no one beats the Chadmeister.  I think Chad got 67 basketball pictures and 63 baseball pictures.  A lot of them were just awesome, but the ones that are the most fun are the ones that show his concentration face.  These eight were so funny.  Chad asked me if he really looks this dumb when he's playing and I assured him it's only weird looking if you catch the individual moments.  Still, I don't think any of these pictures are going in his Facebook albums. :)
I don't even know what is going on here.  It's just a warm-up throw for goodness sakes.
Now he's getting serious - so serious that he's sucked in his entire lower lip and it looks like his lower arm is attached to his elbow at a very unnatural angle.

Chad rarely hits without sticking his tongue out.  One of these days he's going to bite it off!
There are those strange unnatural looking arms again.  Maybe it's just because they are so long and skinny.
Now that is a stink face.
I don't think he even opened his eyes before he took this shot.  I'm dying to know if it went in.
The crazy three point shooting face!

And the twisted, creepy lips.  Can you see how intimidated his defender is by those lips?

La Cueva Beasts, I mean, Bears!

I have not posted in forever because my computer is broken and Sam's computer does not have a way to upload pictures from my camera.  So, eventually, I will post pictures of all the goings on of May, which are many, and maybe even a picture of my new gorgeous 8 year old.  But for now, here are pictures I've stolen from Facebook of the most awesome baseball season ever!
Here is La Cueva C Team after winning their final game of the season.  They were 12-1 and tied with Eldorado for first place in Albuquerque. Sadly, C team doesn't have play-offs so we couldn't settle that dispute once and for all and will have to be happy with a shared title.  Darn Eagles! Oh well.  Chad is #15.  He had a great season, finishing with a 2.1 pitching ERA (at least according to my calculations).  I will  probably get some more statistics at the baseball banquet on Tuesday night so no doubt I'll post them because I'm just that weird. :)
And here is La Cueva JV after their final game.  They were 19-1 and won the play-offs making them #1 in Albuquerque.  Go boys!  That's Chad, back row, 6th hat from right.  He got moved up to JV for the district championships where he got to sit the bench, pinch run and collect fly balls for about two weeks.  Awesome!
And here is varsity last night after the state championship game at Isotopes Park.  They won 11 to 10 in a nail biter against Volcano Vista.  They rock.  Obviously Chad is not in this one. Maybe in a couple of years if his arm doesn't give out on him. :)  Man, I love baseball!
