Well, the first week of school is officially over and we've lived to tell. Aaron has only been tardy once (I think) and so far we haven't heard any complaints about mouthiness in class. Chad has a mostly unblemished academic record (I am so going to love Snap Grades), Bethany has only been reprimanded once for being too chatty, Miranda got her name mentioned over the school intercom for doing a random act of kindness, and Amber hasn't gotten any bad reports in the dreaded preschool notebook. So, I guess things could be worse. In fact they probably will get much worse. Stay tuned! I will say that I'm already tired of the homework nagging and we haven't even restarted the piano practice nagging yet. Ugh! The strange thing about this fall is that we usually have baseball and soccer going by this time and we stay pretty busy even without the homework. But, this year, we didn't do fall ball and Bethany is still on the waiting list to get on a soccer team. It feels kind of strange not having a million practices to go to during the week and games all day Saturday. I'm not sure I like it, but I'm totally sure Sam does. Anyhoo, here are some pictures of Amber's first day at preschool.
We're carpooling this year and I don't do drop off. So, thanks Amber Senior for taking this first day picture of Amber Junior hanging up her backpack. I guess she's a big girl now and knows the drill.
And here are Amber and her friend Kade getting ready to show the other kids how it's done. Let's just hope Amber sails through the trial period this time around. Fingers crossed!

I love that Aaron has already been tardy once! It makes me happy to know I'm not alone in my quest to get my kids to school on time....sometimes (even in the first week) it just doesn't go as planned!:) And you have chatty and mouthy kids too....wow! I thought I was the only one with imperfect students!:)
Getting kids to school on time is the bane of my existence. Oh the horror. With three kids in three schools and one of them needing a ride to seminary and from seminary to school, the logistics are quite tricky. What are snap grades?
That is a mighty fine looking preschooler there. If she was in my class she would be sailing through trial period, no problem!
