Well, I guess summer is officially over. The end of the season swim team party was this week. And now, sadly, Bethany and Miranda will not swim another stroke until next June. Bummer! To make matters worse, the party itself was kind of a dud because some kid threw up in the pool earlier in the day and we couldn't even swim to celebrate our swimming season. The bitter irony was almost too much. :)
Here is Bethany getting her swim medal from her coach, Miss Allison. I know you can't tell from Bethy's facial expression, but she had a great time this summer. I had no idea she could move that little body through the water so quickly.
And here is Miranda with Miss Allison. The girls loved her so much. Incidentally, Allison was Sam's calculus student during this past school year. Aw, the circle of life. Miranda finally competed in one of the last meets of the season swimming the breast stroke. She was quite good, I thought. Bethany beat her to the finish line, though, and that kind of ruined the moment for her. Oh, well. At least Bethany will have to compete with the older girls next summer.
And here is what I did before the party. This is a cake I made for Caitlin & Zach's soon to be born baby boy. Zach is a fabulous baseball player and in fact has taken Chad out and worked with him on his pitching from time to time, so I thought the design would be quite apprapos. The shower was fabulous. Sara & Kim sure know how to put on a great party.

The cake was amazing! Thanks for everthing. Zach wanted me to thank you for thinking of him!! You are so talented.
Those are some seriously cute bathing beauties. I wish I could have seen more of their swimming matches. I hope next summer we'll be closer together.
