Have a Nice Day, Big Freshman Stud!

So, today is Freshman Orientation and above is my eldest heading out the door. Sniff! Sniff!  Chad is excited.  Me - not so much.  Most summers I am totally ready to have the kids head back to school.  This year, however, I'd really rather they just stayed here with me.  Maybe it's because we've had an awesome time together.  Maybe it's because I can't stand the thought of getting back into my usual mode of nagging about homework and piano practicing. (We've had a preview of what's to come this week as Chad has been trying to read the 500 pages of "The Three Musketeers" in less than two weeks.  How did I not get the memo that all Honors English students had to read this book over the summer?).  Maybe I'm worried about all the sports tryouts that Chad may or may not make and be devastated about.  Shoot, maybe I'm just going to miss swim team.  I don't know what it is, but I just don't feel ready.  Oh well.  Here we go anyway!  At least the house will stay clean for most of the day if I can keep Amber under control until afternoon preschool.  That's something, right?

I'm totally with you there. Not ready for summer to end at all! At least we have a week or so left. I'm trying to soak it up. Ahh high school enjoy. I'm going a little crazy over the fact that I will have a SENIOR! They grow up WAY to fast.

I'm never ready for summer to end. Josh is excited and I'm a little nervous about this HS stuff. Hope Chad's day and year is great.

Amen. I can't seem to get myself geared up for the inevitable stress load dumped on the family.
P.S. Chad is one handsome boy! (Add that to the coming stresses, trust me)
