Amber slept over at Grandma's on Thanksgiving Eve. She was getting restless as they were settling down to their long winter's nap and she finally told Grandma, "I'm bored of going to sleep." Dang! Going to sleep is the most exciting part of my day. :)

Here is a portion of our Thanksgiving pie extravaganza. We generally try to have at least one pie per person in our family. It's a tradition dating back to my childhood. I'm not sure exactly how it started, but I'm pretty sure most of the blame falls on my Aunt Elizabeth who has never been known to celebrate any holiday half-way. We will not speak of the tragic end met by the chocolate mint pie this year because I tear up just thinking about it. If you want details, you will have to ask Rebecca and the boys. :(

Another Thanksgiving tradition in our family is the post dinner trip to the movie theatre. This year my sisters and I went to see "New Moon". I'm not the biggest Twilight fan, but sometimes when you have three sisters, you just have to take one for the team (even if you do get endlessly mocked by the adolescent, male contingent of your family). I'm not sure Rebecca and Emily will let me go next year though, because I burst out laughing at terrribly inappropriate moments in the film. I ask you - does no one else think that the moment where the werewolves come bursting into the forest as tall and wide as the trees through which pass is absolutely hilarious? Or what about when Bella gasps in shock after Edward suavely proposes with lips all atwitch? I almost expected her to blurt out, "Edward, this is all so.....sudden!) As if she hasn't been writing "Mrs. Edward Cullen" on every notebook she owns for months now. And speaking of which, doesn't anyone else think Bella may be just a teensy-weensy bit pathetic? Or that she might not top anyone's list of fun persons to invite to a party? I'm just sayin'...

Oh dear Jules,
I thought I was the only Twilight mocker on the earth. I had to see the first movie with 300 middle school girls as a chaperone to Katie's field trip. I watched it through gaps in my fingers that covered my eyes. It was horrible. I refuse to see New Moon. Thank goodness my sister didn't beg me or I may have folded. Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving!
Did you read the books Julie? Bella is alot easier to stomach on screen than in the books...especially New Moon! :D Sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving!
I did read Twilight and New Moon and I just wanted to kill Bella. The movies are easier to take. I have a pet peeve with Bella being so opposed to the idea of the committment of marriage but she has no problem with the committment of Edward changing her for all time into a vampire. That girl has some serious issues.
I definitely like your pie tradition! Did you have any turkey to go along with it?
We ended up with more pies than expected and I though it was great. I saw New Moon during Thanksgiving too. I wish someone would give Edward a hamburger or two and some self tanner (I know he's a vampire but still).
I don't like Bella at all. But I found New Moon to be eye candy. You must admit those Cullens are tasty tasty. (There should be some witty comment here about tastiness, but I can't find it.) And I found that scene with Bella and Carlisle to be highly accidentally erotic.
New Moon IS eye candy, but not the vampires, oh no . . . For me it was all about the underage werewolves! Heh. You're right, Julie, it's best seen with a female contingent where you can giggle and not take it too seriously. Although, I do like it. Bella is over the top. But I think deep down I am, too. {You know Chris & his vampire tendencies!}
