Aw, spring break. A time when I don't have to nag or worry (okay, I still do that a little) for a whole glorious week. Vacation did not start out very well last weekend when we woke up to find that it was snowing on the day of Amber's first long-awaited t-ball practice.
She didn't care though. She just put on a sweatshirt and toughed it up like a champ!I kow it doesn't look that cold in this picture, but believe me it was. The practice went on for about a half an hour before the coaches decided frost bite was about to set in. Amber and her friend Violet are the only girls on the team but they don't seem to mind. Amber loves to hit the ball, but fielding is not exactly her forte.
Thankfully, after the weekend, the weather went from about 30 degrees to about 70 degrees for the rest of the week. Sam talked me into two separate hikes during the week. The first was the North Domingo Baca trail and the second was Tent Rocks. We took Miranda and Bethany on the Tent Rocks hike. They were absolute troopers!
The trail was very steep and the entire hike lasted about two hours but neither girl uttered a word of complaint.
Here they are at the top of the mountain. There were about a million other people who decided to take this particular hike at the same time we did. I've never seen it so crowded before. I guess that's Friday of spring break for you.
What a great view!
Bethany threatened to jump but we convinced her that she still has much to live for. Phew!
Miranda on top of the world! I think the girls' favorite part of the hike besides hunting for Apache Tears was seeing our car way down below in the parking lot.
