The exhausting month of May is over at last and while I still don't have a computer, I was able to upload some pictures to document the whole, glorious affair. So, here are the highlights of how the Smiths spent the last month of the interminably long 10-11 school year.
Miranda joined Runner's Club this spring and became quite a sprinter. Here she is at the 2010 DCES jogathon. She didn't even break a sweat.
We have an eight year old. Roller King wouldn't let us bring any outside food in so we had to make Miranda's roller skate cake at her family birthday party. And so here is the much inferior cake at Miranda's friend birthday party. :)
And the whole crew enjoying pizza between skating rounds. The girls did quite well and most of them even said they would go again. Score!
Amber likes to wear the skates but she spent most of her time in the game section.
Look at all these cute skaters. Miranda just loves her darling friends.
Piano recital 2011. Miranda was the only one in the group picture because...
Poor Bethany had strep and barely got through the program with the help of a lot of Motrin. Here she is after her song.
And of course you all know that Aaron is too cool to take a group recital picture. All three kids did great though. If only I hadn't been too lazy to video their performances this year.
Seventh Grade Honors Assembly. Desert Ridge has a lot of honor students and the gym is a sweltering nightmare with the amount of people there. Still, I was so happy that Aaron made the honor roll that I told him I would have gone out of state to attend this assembly.
Aaron was thrilled to be here as you can see. He got a little bit more excited when we went to Cold Stone after the ceremony however.
The cake for Bethany's end of season softball party. We had a great time this season. We met lots of new friends and Bethany even hit a home run. Rock on!
Miranda and her great friend Sharlotte at her baptism. I can't believe these girls are old enough to be baptized. I remember when I taught them preschool back in the day.
Daddy and Miranda. What a handsome couple!
Miranda after the baptism. Doesn't she look like an angel?
This dress took the better part of several months to crochet, but it was totally worth it.Amber's end of the year preschool party. I can't believe all of my children will officially be in school next year. Boy does the time fly!
Amber will miss you Miss Melissa and Miss Sandy!
And finally, the last day of high school. This picture demonstrates how we felt to be done with finals. Papers all over the floor, Chad with his head stuck in a locker. I have never been so happy to have a school year over in my life. Chad studied his cute little tushy off for his finals and I am happy to repor that he totally rocked them and at last has his beloved cell phone back for the summer. Now if he can just keep the momentum going in the fall. And so, we wish you goodbye school year 2010-2011. You were sometimes gloriously fun, often horribly frustrating and always just a little bit stressful for the mama. We will miss you, but not for a few weeks. :)
